King Praises 30 Years of Cambodian Prosperity

PHNOM PENH: King Norodom Sihamoni delivered a message to the 9th National Assembly of the 6th legislature held on 30 March 2023.

The King is pleased to see that for nearly 30 years, since the 1993 general election, the Cambodian people have maintained, strengthened, and respected the monarchy, democracy, liberalism, and multi-party development.

The King commended leaders at all levels and the Cambodian people for their hard work in fulfilling their respective duties, which led to great achievements beyond expectation in the Kingdom.

He commended the National Assembly for passing 109 key laws in the sixth legislature, which complemented the laws passed previously and included additions that ensure sustainable progress and the improvement of constitutional democracy.

The King also applauded the National Assembly members’ efforts to directly connect with their constituents, which allowed them to collaborate on effective solutions to the people’s requests and concerns.

The King then praised the leadership of Prime Minister Hun Sen, who successfully solved many recurring difficulties, especially in regards to the nation’s economic recovery from the Covid-19 crisis. He credited the Prime Minister for maintaining peace and independence for the nation and for leading a nation where people live in equality, freedom and harmony.
